This report was prepared by the Office of Educational Prospects (Dirección de Prospección Educativa) reporting to Unidad de Estudios e Intercambio Académico of Colegio Nacional de Educación Profesional Técnica (CONALEP) to "identify the factors with an impact on School Desertion, and the measures and strategies implemented by Mexico and other countries to diminish such measure".
The study "shows quantitative data on School Desertion at the preparatory educational level in Mexico, and with respect to the CONALEP System, reliance is placed on the institutional measures provided by the Secretariat of Planning and Institutional Development as of March 2016, in the School Management System (SAE, as per the Spanish acronym), and the Rate of School Desertion and the respective trend in a period of five years from 2012 to 2016. On the other hand, information is provided about implementation at the national level of the survey 'Factors that encourage School Desertion in CONALEP' for students that abandoned their studies, which resulted in a five-year statistical analysis, given that the 9 th edition took place during the six-month period from February to August 2016".
